RDAP terms of service

Last updated October 3, 2026

These terms apply to every query to CertPing's Registration Data Access Protocol service at https://rdap.certping.com and to the lookup page it serves. By sending a query you agree to them. How the service works is described in the RDAP help.

What the service provides

The service publishes registration data for domain names for which CertPing is the registrar of record, as required by ICANN policy. Data is provided for lawful purposes such as determining the availability of a domain name, identifying the registrar, and contacting the registrant or the registrar about a domain.

Permitted use

You may use the data returned by the service only to:

  • support technical, operational or security matters relating to a domain name;
  • contact a registrant, through the contact form linked in each record, about a legitimate matter concerning their domain;
  • investigate or report abuse, infringement or inaccurate data; or
  • meet a legal obligation.

Prohibited use

You must not use the service or its data to:

  • send unsolicited advertising or other bulk communications, by email, phone, post or any other channel;
  • run high-volume or automated queries designed to compile, repackage or resell registration data;
  • attempt to identify registrants whose personal data has been withheld; or
  • interfere with or circumvent the operation, rate limits or security of the service.

Personal data

Personal data of registrants and technical contacts, including name, street address, phone number and email address, is withheld and marked as redacted in each response. The registrant's state or province and country are published, as ICANN's Registration Data Policy requires. To reach a registrant, use the contact link in the record.

Rate limits and availability

Queries are rate limited per client network. Requests above the limit are refused until the limit resets. CertPing may change limits, block clients that breach these terms, and suspend the service for maintenance without notice.

Accuracy

Data is provided as supplied by registrants and as held by CertPing at the time of the query, without warranty of accuracy or completeness. To report inaccurate registration data, use ICANN's registration data inaccuracy complaint form.

Changes to these terms

CertPing may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version, which applies to every query from that date. Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page.
